What are my options for hair loss? There are many types and degrees of hair loss, and so there are many options for hair loss solutions.
At Extensions NW we can offer several choices for preventing, treating, and concealing hair loss. In some cases we are only a part of a team you will recruit to assist in dealing with hair loss. This could include your doctor, dermatologist, or surgeon.
What we offer: An analysis is first and foremost to determine the type and degree of loss. For each type and degree of loss, there may be more than one option available.
In the earliest stages, hair and scalp care products and supplements, to promote a healthy scalp environment are usually recommended. A flattering cut and style to more easily camouflage thinning can be all that is needed. There are also various products designed to help areas of thinning appear less noticeable.
In more advanced cases, partial top or integration pieces are recommended. These systems integrate right in with your own hair, so look and feel just like you! There are several methods of incorporating these additions into your own hair or combining them with extensions.
What about Chemotherapy or Alopecia? We offer very believable chemotherapy pieces and vacuum pieces for alopecia that offer comfort and security. We are also trained in insurance billing as in many cases these types of prosthesis are covered by your medical insurance. We can assist in finding organizations that donate high quality pieces as well.
Private Consultation Room: For your privacy and comfort we have a separate room for consultations and fittings of all hair loss systems.
Credentials: Carol Rathbun, owner of Carol & Co. Hair Studio / Extensions NW, has over 20 years experience in hair design. After suffering hair loss herself, this topic became very personal to Carol. She first trained in hair extensions in 1999 and has since been certified in several systems of extensions and hair loss replacement. What if I already have a great hairstylist? Or I am a stylist with a client interested in extensions or hair loss replacements? As we are full service stylists ourselves, we completely respect the relationship between a client and her stylist. By no means do we want to "steal" a client. We prefer to work closely with the regular stylist to coordinate our services to best suit the client.
It is important that we communicate to be sure that both the regular stylist and the extension / hair replacement artist are working towards the same end result. We will coordinate the color, cut and texture services and the extension / replacement service that we provide so as not to interfere with each other.
